In my last blog I spoke of the city gate, a place mentioned quite often in the Bible yet never really spoken much about. The people who frequent it are those highly respected by others and well known by God. It was during the time I first was allowed in the city gate that I realized the influence it had on those who frequent it. I sensed in my spirit that sitting here in the city gate and waiting on God was the final preparation to enter the Garden. I will never forget the words God spoke to me as I sat there in silence waiting on Him for further instruction. In a soft gentle voice, He said , “Listen my son, I am fine tuning your rhythm to flow with mine because it’s how we move in the Garden!”
God first exposed this truth to me back in April 2012 while I was visiting my sister in hospice care. She was hanging on to life although physically she had nothing left. The doctor suggested that she may want to see certain people before passing on. So, I decided to go and visit her and see if I could help facilitate the process of her letting go. When I arrived I noticed my family members were exhausted and in need of a break. So I volunteered to sit with her by myself as they all went home to get some rest. I sat next to her bed holding her hand believing she could hear me and continually prayed Psalm 23 over her, telling her it was OK to go and that both our Heavenly Father and our earthly father would welcome her back home. It was while I was sitting there that I heard the Holy Spirit whisper to me, “I want to teach you something!” I then felt led to take the recliner I was sitting in and move it next to her bed so we could see each other face to face. I then reclined my chair all the way down, grabbed her hand and said to her, “Let’s take a nap sweetheart!” so we both lay there holding hands and began to breathe together as I began to drift off. But then it hit me, our breathing was “In Sync;” it had a beautiful perfect rhythm. I would breathe in while she breathed out and vice versa. We were flowing in our breathing as if we were one person. It was like we were rocking each other to sleep. It was so relaxed and peaceful. I then remember hearing His voice tell me, “That’s how I want you and me to be!”
God wants us in rhythm with him and not in rhythm with the world. To enter the Garden is to set us free from the Enemy’s frequency; the frequency of the world and all its selfishness and lies! To stay in this rhythm is to stay in a position of waiting on God. Those who wait upon the Lord shall be blessed with the rhythm of God. I believe by entering the Garden we are set free and fine-tuned!
The city gate is a place were those who have waited on God can experience their spirit and soul joined in rhythmic harmony with God’s. This rhythm is necessary to enter the Garden and enjoy it to its fullest. I cannot wait to get in and experience the flow! How about you?
